Bible Studies
at University Lutheran Church

During the Fall and Spring Semesters:

Sunday Morning (9:30 A.M.)
Sunday morning Bible studies are held at 9:30 A.M. before the service. We usually study a book of the Bible.

Noon Bible Study (TBA)
We occasionally have a weekly, midweek Noon Bible Study. The discussion lasts for a half hour to forty-five minutes. You are welcome to bring your lunch, if you would like. Please contact the church office ((217) 344-1558) if you would be interested in attending.

Thursday Evening (9:00 P.M.)
On Thursday evenings, we typically study topics in Lutheran theology. Previous topics have included:
  • A Bible study in the Lutheran Spirituality Series, entitled, The Word: God Speaks to Us. The author is Prof. John Pless of Concordia Theological Seminary.
  • Luther's Large Catechism
  • The right distinction of Law and Gospel, a hallmark of Lutheran theology, which is crucial to applying the Truth of Scripture to daily life
Adult Confirmation Class for Students
and Other Catechetical Opportunities (TBA)
A Confirmation refresher class is meeting Sundays at noon.

Please contact the church office at (217) 344-1558 for further information, or to inquire about other opportunities for instruction.
